Austin's best-dressed sons continue to tutor an endless stream of upcoming bands with their scientifically flawless indie-rock, perfectly suited for college kids and other literary-minded roustabouts around the world. These guys are gentleman and perfectionists, though, so don't expect any wild shenanigans onstage.

When we caught them at a free outdoor show downtown this summer, the group risked electrocution as a fine mist enveloped Rockefeller Park, eventually causing the show to end a bit early. Luckily, this show is inside (not so luckily, it's at NYC's most cavernous and unappealing medium-sized space … so be it). Tuned and tight after months of touring behind arguably the best record named after baby noises ever made (“Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga”), Brit Daniel & Co. deserve this well-earned victory lap.
