The Bronx
To quote Lionel Hutz, "This is the greatest case of false advertising I've seen since I sued the movie ‘The Neverending Story.'" But we'll forgive this Los Angeles-based band for making hardcore cool again. Vocalist Matt Caughtran shreds a guttural roar like his larynx is doing tequila shots, while the rest of the band doesn't succumb to musical posturing like their younger pseudo-punk peers. The sextet has been branching out recently, forming Mariachi El Bronx, an "alternate" band that opens each show with a mariachi set. Mariachi. At a punk show. Now that's fookin' punk. The band releases their third self-titled album, "The Bronx (III)," on November 11. With Trash Talk and Akimbo. TICKET INFO.
