August 1: My Bloody Valentine
For a band that’s only released two albums over 20+ years, UK shoegaze kings My Bloody Valentine’s reunion last year became one of the most anticipated tours in rock history. Melding sugar-sweet, Phil Spector-inspired melodies with layers of squelch, noise and feedback, the group’s sound influenced a generation of musicians. Tracks from the eternally talked about third album, which has yet to materialize, didn’t show up in any of the band’s sets last time around. But we have a feeling that even if they’re not ready by All Points West, their colossal legion of fans won’t mind.
Also playing: Gogol Bordello, Arctic Monkeys, Neko Case, The Ting Tings, Yelle, Crystal Castles, Tokyo Police Club, The Cool Kids, Kool Keith, Cage the Elephant, Chairlift, White Rabbits, Electric Touch, The Postelles, Black Gold, College Humor Live, Tim & Eric, Judah Friedlander and Jim Jeffries.

Bring your earplugs or stand *really* far back for MBV. They are beyond loud live.
