Q&A: Nick Catchdubs

You and A-Trak started the Fool's Gold label together last year. What's the common thread that makes your artists hang together?
Well, aside from any stylistic stuff, we're all friends. A-Trak and I wanted to represent our scene as a family unit. The stuff that was going on in France with labels like Headbanger was so unified and cool. We wanted to do something like that.

What label, historic or current, do you want Fool's Gold to emulate?
Strictly Rhythm or Nervous in the ‘90s. They would do, like, rave-y, super clubby stuff and then straight up hip-hop records too.
