Takka Takka at Cake Shop
October 24, 2008
Friday night on the Lower East Side can sure be interesting—weaving between Jersey crust punkers and ¾ of the Murray Hill social club on the narrow Ludlow St. sidewalk is so much fun! Luckily we were able to duck into Fat Baby to catch Winnipeg popsters Novillero, playing their first New York show in a couple years. Down the street at Cake Shop we hit New York Noise's all-NYC showcase with Takka Takka, Woods and Vivian Girls. Prior we hit Fader Fort for the US debut of Australia's The Seabellies and Brooklyn's School of Seven Bells. Late night we were at The Studio at Webster Hall for Monotonix and Night Horse, proving that bands still break stuff at 3:30 a.m.
