With Born Ruffians
May 7, 2009
Named for the archduke whose assassination sparked World War I, Scotland's Franz Ferdinand made a global impact of their own after their self-titled 2004 debut exploded onto the charts, nabbing the Mercury Prize in the process. Since then, it's been a race to catch up to their own hype, with the group's 2005 sophomore follow-up "You Could Have It So Much Better" not exactly sealing the deal. Hence the band's latest concept album, "Tonight," which charts one debauched night out at the disco. What a great soundtrack for one debauched night at the concert hall. With Born Ruffians.
