Gomez are that rare ‘90s British pop band that have successfully retained their fan base both home and abroad with each album. Ever since 1998’s “Bring It On” grabbed the prestigious Mercury Music Prize (surprisingly beating out heavy favorites Massive Attack and The Verve), the quintet’s mix of bluesy rock and pop have distinguished them from their Britpop sound-alike contemporaries. In a genre that suffered from Too Many Cooks syndrome, Gomez never abandoned their inherent Britishness but differentiated themselves enough to stick out. With Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit.
