Liars at the end of the ‘00s are a vastly different band than the one that helped usher in the then-trendy dance-punk of the early decade. After achieving hipster fame, they embraced an experimental approach that culminated in a dissonant, tuneless concept album. Last year's self-titled effort, thankfully, rediscovered the art of the groove —hello, hooks!—while still incorporating elements of everything from dub to noise rock to prog. This show at the sweltering Pool hit all the nooks and crannies of the band’s catalog, focusing on extended and semi-tuneful cuts. With Fuck Buttons and Team Robespierre.
