Santigold
June 9, 2009
You think a forced name change is gonna stop Santi White from rockin? Some informercial jeweler named Santo Gold may have gotten her name back, but that hasn’t seemed to slow down the eternally cool vocalist. In interviews, every artist talks about how diverse their album is, but the Philly-bred singer backs it up on her self-titled debut, combining punk, indie, hip-hop, rock, dub and electronic for one of the best albums of 2008. The singer hasn’t put out much product since then, short of a verse for the “Notorious” soundtrack and a track on N.A.S.A.’s debut, but some nuggets of new material was debuted at this sold out show. With Amanda Blank and Trouble Andrew.
