Despite rumors that last year was the end, the annual Coney Island sweatfest that is Siren Fest solderied on into its eighth year with another solid lineup. Stephen Malkmus and his Jicks simultaneously headlined with Broken Social Scene, while much buzzed-about bands like Times New Viking, the Dodos and These Are Powers rounded out the afternoon bill. We checked in with some of the performers to find out about prison tats, summer jams and the hottest topic of the day: gas vs. charcoal.
