Yeah Yeah Yeahs
April 12, 2009
The meme surrounding "It's Blitz," the recently released album from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, is that this is their "dance" record. Sort of. While it's true that synths have replaced guitars on many tracks, the trio remains one of the most innovative rock bands today. Lead singer Karen O has established herself as one of music's most stylish, brash and electrifying singers—equal parts Iggy Pop and Debbie Harry—and rollicks around the stage like a feral animal. We caught the trio has this unannounced show, a day after the band's pretty-near epic SNL appearance.
