Dinowalrus
OK, we’re not completely sold on the name, but monikers do not make a great band. Brooklyn’s Dinowalrus mix digital and analog for a sound steeped in both the indie rock and ‘70s keyboard krautrock tradition. On “Bead,” tribal drumming, horns and synths gloriously combine to sound like The Liars if they would just calm down a bit. Augmented by samplers and drum machines, the band bucks gimmicky trends and treats the electronic side of their sound with a subtlety that keeps them forward-looking, yet still rocking.
