Mixel Pixel
The elder statesmen of the festival, Mixel Pixel’s roots began in 1995 and, since their debut album in 2001, have released five albums including this year’s “Let’s Be Friends.” Practically the definition of “quirky pop,” the Brooklyn-via-Delaware band mix playful, childlike pop with beats that sounds like Beck in his funk-obsessed stages. Wonderfully cheap-sounding keyboards and children’s toys are frequent contributors to the sound that could be the bastard offspring of the K Records clan.
