Public meltdowns

Back before celebrity meltdowns were so common that VH1 could build
entire shows around them, a very manic Mariah Carey went on “TRL” in
2001 and freaked out Carson Daly by taking off her clothes, handing out
popsicles and saying things like, “I just want one day off where I can
go swimming and look at rainbows and like, eat ice cream.” She checked
into a mental health facility a few days later. Madonna, on the other
hand, has never really had a public meltdown, unless you count one of
many scenes in the 1991 documentary “Truth or Dare” where she goes
ballistic backstage over various technical problems.
Advantage: Madonna. Despite nearly three decades of public scrutiny, she’s never really allowed the façade to crack.
