To call Of Montreal’s live performance “unpredictable” is both stating the obvious and drastically understating their show. Replete with gaudy costumes and extravagant lighting, the Georgia indie band’s set is as much theatre and spectacle as it is musicality. With an incalculable amount of samey singer-songwriters in the genre, vocalist Kevin Barnes has long stood out for his intelligent lyrics, manic energy and Bowie-esque showman ability. When pictures of his nude performance surfaced on the Net in 2007, he could safely add “balls out” to his repertoire. With Love Is All.
