Daniel Johnston | Radio Room

Two days into the official musical festivities at South by Southwest 2009 and all the BBQ and beer have done nothing to slacken the pace. Illinois' favorite indie violinist Andrew Bird tore it up at Stubb's, while British bloke Tricky, U.K. electro-rockers Late of the Pier, and rising Atlanta future-soul singer Janelle Monae each took the stage at the Fader Fort. Austin legend Daniel Johnston made an appearance at Radio Room, and Twin Cities rapper Brother Ali had heads bobbing at Habana Bar Backyard. The drinks kept coming, but so did the music—also in Thursday's mix: Amazing Baby, Au Revoir Simone, the Wrens, Wavves, Bishop Allen, Charles Hamilton and more.
