Time Warp
A look back at Denver's Warped Tour
Ever since Jeff Spicoli rocked his checkerboard slip-ons in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Vans has been a harbinger of cool. But the SoCal shoe company is so much more than waffle soles and surfers. With one foot on the coping and an ear to the ground, Vans has been putting on the Warped Tour for 13 years and Denver was treated to the spectacle June 29th in the parking lot of Mile High at Invesco Field. Featuring almost 100 bands on nine different stages, Warped Tour was part punk, part emo, part ska, part hardcore and completely raucous. Acts included scene pioneers Pennywise and Reel Big Fish, new school favorites Angels & Airwaves, Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship along with hometown darlings 3OH!3 who threatened to bring the entire festival crashing down around them.
