This sixth studio LP, "Love 2," from Jean-Benoît Dunckel and Nicolas Godin, the French electronic duo known as Air, is the first made in the band's own new recording studio. It's also Air's first self-produced effort in five years, breaking from longtime co-producer Nigel Godrich. Sung in English, the lyrics might pass for cute as a second language in France but they don't veer much past the titles. Largely gentle and lulling (apart from the whirring, discordant buzz of "Eat My Beat"), it's easy to snooze through songs meant to be featured highlights, such as "Tropical Disease" and even the single, "Do the Joy."
