How badass are the girls of Au Revoir Simone? So tough, that vocalist-keyboardist Annie Hart knits on tour, and vocalist-keyboardist Erika Forster’s guilty pleasure for cheering herself up is hanging in a hammock. OK, so this all-female, three-keyboards-and-a-drum-machine group isn’t the toughest act to come out of Brooklyn. (Heather D'Angelo rounds out the band on vocals, keyboards and the drum machine.) But it might be the most wistfully appealing, crafting sad but uplifting dream-pop, anchored by three lovely voices. They take their name from "Pee-wee's Big Adventure," which Forster says reflects the band's silly side. We say it reflects their awesome side. With Class Actress and Alexa Wilding.
