The Chicago rapper blew up among the hipster-hop set in 2007 with her Kanye West-produced "Pro Nails," but has since seen her profile steadily rising into quasi-mainstream territory. Kid Sis (born Melisa Young) only started rapping in 2005, but her unique flow and swagger has made her a standout among the cookie-cutters and earned her a spot on the uber-hip Fool's Gold label before moving to another uber-hip label Downtown Records, where she released her debut album "Ultraviolet."
