Oh snap! Crowd shots to follow.
Every year American indie rock fans eagerly anticipate the Britpop buzz generated at SXSW, and wait to see what cream rises to the top. This year's cream seems to be London's Chew Lips (pronounced tschoo-lips or tulips with a posh British accent. Geddit? Maybe?). NYC scenesters had a lot to Tweet about at Brooklyn's Littlefield on a Monday night at the band’s buzzy, industry-heavy NYC debut. As with all bands with hot chick singers, Tigs is the star of the show with a voice that reminds you of Pat Benatar and a look that reminds you of Blondie and the band perform songs that sound like they could be produced by James Murphy dancing like a lunatic in a basement in London.
