WIth Circa Survive and Torche
With their new LP, “Year of the Black Rainbow,” filling in the back story of “The Armory Wars” epic, New York alt/prog rockers Coheed and Cambria famously and aggressively take their conceptual compositions to the stage—this time in placid Centreal Park. If that all sounds like gibberish, you really need to delve into the universe this foursome has created: multi-album story lines, accompanying comic books, that prequel album. It’s intense, like the band’s full-throated, technically complex output. Openers Circa Survive and Torche aren’t slouches either.
