The two Dixie Chicks who aren’t frontwoman Natalie Maines make a side project album while the main group’s on hiatus. It’s good! Normally, sisters Emily Robison and Martie Maguire play second fiddle to Maines, but here they’re in the spotlight alone. Mostly adult-contemporary, Chicksy country in flavor, the songs sound comfortable and casual, laid-back yet emotionally engaged. With The Abrams Brothers.
