Joke’s on us, really. After Queens rappers Das Racist entered the Internet hive mind with a stupid song about a combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell (Unfamiliar? It’s what it sounds like), they flipped things just at the moment we thought they were a joke-rap novelty with this very not-stupid lyrical atom bomb of an album from MCs Kool A.D. and Heems. They address the topic on track “hahahaha jk?” Sorta. Sample verse: “We're not joking, just joking, we are joking, just joking, we're not joking.” The collaborators on the mixtape is a who’s who: El-P, Jay-Z, Boi-1da, Scoop Deville, Diplo. The Bollywood-sampling “Rapping 2 you” drops the following references: Google, Palestinian mommies, The Beatnuts, George Costanza's dick, MTV, BET, Illuminati, Gandhi, banh mi, Blondie, Nicki Minaj, Conde Nast publications, Nietzsche, Bill O Reilly, chalupas, space chimps, Stanley Tucci, Leslie Neilson, Dizzy Gillespie, The ESPYs…..exhale.
