The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys- The group that celebrated its 50th anniversary with a reunion tour and album last year has never won a Grammy. That seems "mind-boggling," says Grein, who questions Grammy voters' tastes in the 1960s. "Voters then viewed it maybe as teen pop," he says. The Beach Boys (Brian Wilson, left, Mike Love, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson and David Lee Marks) were nominated for a few awards, including best contemporary recording in 1966 for 'Good Vibrations.' Though that song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1994, it lost to the New Vaudeville Band's poppy 'Winchester Cathedral.' The band was awarded a consolation lifetime achievement award in 2001. And Brian Wilson has won a Grammy as a solo artist (2004's best rock instrumental for 'Mrs. O'Leary's Cow.')
