If the Recording Academy "had rock categories in 1968, and if they had had younger and more rock-oriented members at the time, as they do now, he probably would have won," Grein adds. Hendrix hasn't received any posthumous Grammys, but he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
