Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin- The band was in its prime before the category for rock was established. As a result, the band has no Grammys (though Robert Plant and Jimmy Page have won awards). Led Zeppelin was nominated for best new artist in 1969 but lost to Crosby, Stills & Nash, which "is a much more Grammy-friendly act," says Grein. Grammy voters weren't so comfortable with the heavy metal genre in the 1970s, but have since warmed to it: Metallica has won eight Grammys, starting in 1989.
