Five years since they scored a surprise chart-topper with “Feel Good Inc.”, the cartoon hip-hop/rock band from ex-Blur frontman Damon Albarn and designer/illustrator Jamie Hewlett returned earlier this year with "Plastic Beach"—a sort of end-of-days mixtape, something alien archeologists can unearth to puzzle over why humanity created radioactive seas. Past Gorillaz collaborators like Danger Mouse and Dennis Hopper (!) have left the fold, but not to worry—Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lou Reed, and the Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon guested.
