Celtic Woman Christmas album
The PBS favorites return with their latest album of holiday tunes (the first, 2006's 'A Christmas Celebration,' sold a million copies). Aside from Mairead Nesbitt's fiddle and the occasional pipes, producer David Downes' arrangements downplay the Celtic influence in favor of lush symphonic sounds. The women present pop and traditional fare in solo and group settings, their earnest performances better suited to the somber melody of We Three Kings than the whimsical 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.'
