With a potent mix of cynical snark, unbridled exuberance and a love/hate relationship with his native city, few musicians encapsulate New York quite like LCD Soundsystem frontman/mastermind James Murphy. As part of the DFA crew and with his own band, Murphy's fusing of rock with dance at the turn of century became the template of countless bands from New York and beyond. And if Saturday's retirement show at MSG is real (we'll be there), this third night of four at Terminal 5 was one of the last times to witness one of the few NYC bands that defined an era.
