M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez has never shied from big artistic statements, so it was little surprise when he announced that his sixth album "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" would be a double-disc set. He then hung out in Joshua Tree, soaking up inspiration—a move that he ingratiatingly acknowledged as “so clichéd.” The conceptual hook is that the album is split between a male side and a female side; each song is mirrored by a loosely related sibling track. Gonzalez keeps his hot streak going strong on “Hurry Up”—a great pop record with actual emotional depth.
