Eric Clapton (6)
ERIC CLAPTON (6): Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven,' inspired by the death of his 4-year-old son, Conor, won song and record of the year, and awards in both the pop and rock categories, in 1993. In Grein's words, "(Clapton) took the worst thing that could possibly happen and turned it into a work of beauty." Clapton also won that year for his 'Unplugged' remake of his '70s classic 'Layla.'
