Norah Jones
For the better part of the decade, jazz-leaning singer-songwriter Norah Jones dominated a certain brand of catchy, safe chanteuse pop that strangely had hipsters and your parents both keeping the singer on their radar. One night, she'd be performing with Josh Grobin, the next fronting a punk cover band under a pseudonym. On record, Jones has always had that "Fabulous Baker Boys," girl on a piano quality that makes her songs both hard to turn off yet forgettable. Still, even with swampy conditions, a free show outside in Brooklyn makes us proud to live in New York in the summer.
