Owl City
Bad puns ("I’ve been to the dentist a thousand times/So I know the drill"), a sunny disposition and a sound that could best be described as “the Postal Service with a dollop of '90s Euro-disco”—you can credit Owl City mastermind Adam Young with finding success and yet being completely at odds with, well, anything else on the radio. The songs on “Ocean Eyes” are alarmingly saccharine sweet—Young apparently digs God, picking flowers, pretending he’s a worm and playing with dancing fireflies. And how can you forget about the radio hit "Fireflies.” With Lights.
