With Tokyo Police Club and Suckers
At the 2010 Coachella Festival, few bands garnered a more frenzied and ferocious reaction than Boston electropop quintet Passion Pit, inspiring no less than Jay-Z to nod his head backstage. What began as Michael Angelakos's one-man band Valentine's Day gift to his girlfriend morphed into a full-fledged band with Angelakos at the center. On 2009's "Manners," Angelakos's falsetto is paired over some of the poppiest music in years—despite noticeably dark lyrics, the tunes have caused collective jumping-in-the-air wherever they play. You see these photos? This was by far the band's tightest, liveliest and largest NYC sets to date. Watch out Kings of Leon! With Tokyo Police Club and Suckers.
