Phil Collins
Coming off his recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with his pals in Genesis, Phil Collins is once again getting his solo career up and running. Missed you Phil! He’s released his first album in eight years christened "Going Back"—a collection of Motown and soul classics that have influenced his career. (You hear the massive brass sections and soulful harmonies in much of the Collins’ cannon). This kickoff of three intimate performances at Roseland featured a 19-piece band including some of the original Funk Brothers (!). Songs included “(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave,” "Papa Was A Rolling Stone” and the dance party starting Stevie Wonder hit “Uptight (Everything’s Alright).”
