With Loudon Wainwright III
Rufus Wainwright is a great cabaret singer, and like many great cabaret singers before him, longs to be a Broadway star. But the songs Wainwright writes are not typical Broadway fare: He prefers exacting specifics to sweeping generalities, boasts an extremely wry sense of humor, and while he may wear his emotions appropriately on his sleeve, he doesn't treat them as sacrosanct. We basically love anything Rufus Wainwright does. He performed on a steamy evening with his father Loudon Wainwright III.
