Detroit's moment in the media spotlight may have come and gone (thanks for the memories, Jack White), but that's all right with the Dirtbombs. The Rock City quartet never wanted to be lumped in with anyone else, hence the unusual decision to populate the band with as many as two bass players, two drummers, and a guitarist. On their recent cover release—"Party Store"— the band's sound is hotter than ever, with fat, funky basslines cementing dirty grooves that reshaped classic tecnno songs from Derrick May and Juan Atkins.
