Like so many emo bands, Kansas City's The Get Up Kids went through their share of band trauma as they reached new levels of success and grew into adulthood. After four albums, the group broke up in 2004 for the typical breakup reasons—family time, creative differences. The group, as they often do, reformed in 2008 and released "There Are Rules" earlier in 2011. The set mixed sclassics and new material; no word yet on if the group, now in their 30s, will drop the "Kids" part of their moniker. With Miniature Tigers and Brian Bonz.
