The Hood Internet is making a serious run at dominating the world of mash-ups, that quirky musical category achieved by blending an instrumental version of a song with (an often very different) vocal from another. Just this year the Chicago duo, fronted by ABX (Aaron Brink) and STV SLV (Steve Reidell), have played Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza—prompting some pretty thick dance parties along the way, including this late-night jumpoff at the Bell House. Recent NYC import (by way of Austin) Car Stereo Wars opened.
