TV on the Radio
Though their music—an instantly recognizable mix of angular art-rock, future funk and mutant baby-making R&B—can sometimes be hard to penetrate on disc, TV on the Radio have a well-deserved reputation as a dance-party-starting live act, with irresistibly thick grooves and (usually) a horn section buoying Tunde Adebimpe and Kyp Malone's rousing vocal gymnastics. They're touring behind their most accessible album to date, the soulful "Nine Types of Light." They played the Williamsburg Waterfront last night with Broken Social Scene.
