Spiky, soulful post-punk from the mysterious U.K. band
WU LYF cultivated an air of mystery about themselves when they first surfaced, declining interviews and not releasing a bio or any photos. The U.K. band has since finally opened up a bit, revealing themselves to be four young lads from Manchester who call their spiky, soulful post-punk sound “heavy pop,” and recorded their debut album "Go Tell Fire to the Mountains", which has received heavy praise from the likes of Pitchfork and the New York Times, in an abandoned church in their hometown. Last night, they headlined a sold out show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
