The Masons may be a mysterious bunch, but thankfully for music lovers, they've started opening up the doors of their meeting place for some really special shows, with the likes of the Mountain Goats, Mastodon and Yeasayer having graced its ancient stage. The concert space is a huge, old hall with high ceilings, architectural details and art on the walls that speaks to its history. The acoustics aren't great, but the atmosphere is fantastic, and while the hipsters congregate on the main floor, oldsters can rest their bones on the wooden seats of the spacious balcony. Alcohol is usually limited to beer and wine, but explore the basement rooms, and you could find yourself smoking and drinking with the local Masons.
