We like spinoffs: “”Rhoda.” “Frasier.” “Melrose Place.” Add to the list: 5 Napkin Burger. The hulking 10-ounce burger—with comte cheese, caramelized onions and rosemary aioli—was so popular at UWS French mainstay Nice Matin that the owners decided to give it its own restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. The new restaurant’s menu offers lotsa good, messy excuses to bust out ‘em napkins: lamb kofta burger, an ahi tuna version and even an “Inside Out” burger wrapped in lettuce, sans bread. (Eclectic entrées like pasta primavera and starters like raclette fondue are available.) The raw, utilitarian space—white tiles, meat hooks, Edison bulbs—should probably also come with a secret tunnel: busybody chef Andy D’Amico oversees the kitchens at nearby Marseille and Nizza.
