Martin O’Connell developed a dedicated following among coffee buffs as a barista at Park Slope's Café Regular, and now that he’s opened his own café only a few blocks away, he's giving his old stomping ground some competition. O'Connell's certainly upping the game: He insists that his café’s specialty—a creamy dose of cappuccino—“will change your life forever.” Fighting words! The wooden benches and straightforward menu don’t speak frills, but what’s in each cup certainly does. Drinks are made with top-quality Strongtree brand Arabica beans that are carefully roasted in upstate New York and are certified organic.
