Uh-huh, you probably will end up—ha!—fat after gorging on the delectably sounding grub at this minimalist LES eatery, which chef Ten Vong describes as "New York comfort food—it's got a little international flair." Our stomach's grumbling already: think chili-and-chocolate-glazed ribs with pickled watermelon, and a medley of smoked- and roasted duck with coconut-lime mustard and yuca chips. Vong (Mercer Kitchen), who was born in Malaysia, gives a shout-out to his own heritage too, from tamarind ketchup to crab cakes. But we still don’t know what to make of the "fondue burger": skewered sliders "a bit bigger than the top of your thumb," Vong says, flanked by a homemade rosemary bun and dipped into a secret five-cheese sauce. Fondue burger. Hmmm, let's see—there's some Swiss in there, mixed with…Republic of Slob?
