To foodies, Houston's is only slightly less insulting than Olive Garden. The fact that it disguises its national chain-ness and corporate character with a moody modern lounge vibe (think the place where fanny-pack wearing tourists change into their polo short/khaki evening wear) is even worse. Or is it? For some inexplicable cosmic reason, some New Yorkers actually do drinks and rib-eyes at this globally-minded, low-lit steakhouse. Granted, they're probably entertaining visiting parents or work nearby Citigroup or are originally from the kinds of obscure dustbowl towns where Canadian bacon and sashimi tuna are exotic—but hey, at least it's not free breadsticks.
