The Shack is shakin' it up! Danny Meyer's venerable patty palace continues its world domination (or, Gotham domination…for now) with a sixth NYC location. Like all the other Shacks, it's got the same menu of LaFrieda-stamped patties, plus hot dogs and a mushroom burger. And like all the other Shacks, it features a bunch of customized frozen custards (aka "concretes") inspired the neighborhood—check out the Wall-nut Street (vanilla custard with cookie dough, walnuts, cherries) or the Lower West Side (chocolate custard with malted marshmallow and cocoa from Mast Brothers). Altruism alert: a portion of the profits from that latter custard will go to the National September 11 Memorial Museum. In keeping with the Shack design theme, this location was built with an eye toward eco-consciousness, featuring recycled materials like salvaged barn wood and tables made from the lanes of an old Brooklyn bowling alley. Strike!
