This is the sandwich shop that spawned a pun-inflected national chain. Owner—and mega food celeb—Tom Colicchio almost single-handedly made the Flatiron District a dining destination with his Craft empire. His sandwich shop by day and wallet-friendly full-service restaurant by night is the most accessible of the Crafts. Resident chef Sisha Ortuzar turns out gourmet style soups, sandwiches and salads during daylight hours, then turns those same ingredients into dinner fare like roasted beef short ribs with romesco and grilled scallions, and a slew of vegetable-centric small plates. In short, 'wichcraft is an ideal spot to grab a takeout lunch that's a cut-above the banal salad bars and Cosis of the land.
