Fatty Crab Uptown : User Reviews
I live on upper west side and tried most restaurants in the neighborhood but this one is the worst experience that I've ever had. First, Service, the restaurant is divided into two parts with a wall in the middle and there are some tables with couch seats on the other side of the wall. When we asked if we can sit there, they told us they do not prefer customers to sit there because it will be easier for their staff to serve if customers are all sit close to each other. The reality is those couch seats are right beside the main dining room I dont understand why it will be so hard. Second, Food, I ordered Oyster Omlet ($17), the omlet was literally dipped in the oil and oysters were in total probably 6,7 pieces. For any brunch, a dish for $17 is not cheap, the value of the food and the taste were very disappointing. My husband ordered Mussels, all that we could taste was pepper, made us feel that they want to hide something that's why they had to put so much pepper in it. And the mussels were in general very small compared to the ones that I had in Docks and Jubilee with cheaper price. 2 pieces of toasts were $4, a so called large cup of watermelon juice, I would say less than a tall size of Starbucks coffee is $7. The name of the restaurant is Fatty crab but there is only one dish is crab and it's market price, they told us it's about $45.

If this location has the same menu as the downtown location, you are in for a treat! Although a warning to the wise, the waiters encourage you to order far more food than you actually need. It is small plates that are meant to be shared but you really only need 2-3 dishes for two people, anything more and you'll be leaving with doggy bags.
